Liatris stopped blooming

I planted a Liatris 3 summers ago. The first year it bloomed nicely. The past two, however, have seen no blooms. Last year the leaves were a bit yellowed and I applied fertilizer and iron. This year the leaves are quite green and robust, but still no blooms. There is another on planted two years ago that has bloomed this year and last. It's only 6 feet away from the problem one. Any guesses why?

What kind of fertilizer did you use? Most Liatris like a leaner soil. Maybe it needed the iron but not the nitrogen.
