Seriously????

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Nice time exposures Victor, I see you found the water everybody has been looking for this summer! lol!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, WC. Yes, we'll be wishing for it again the next few days!

Needed an ND8 and an ND4 to cut the light enough to get those.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Wow, stacked ND's, I would have first thought of F/64 with an ISO of 100! (lol!)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee. Pinhole!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

lol! yep, I have to get the ND 8, I have the ND 4 already, I like your method better, more flexible...

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes. I also had the ND 2 with me.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

- I should have bought that Cokin kit with the 2, 4, & 8 when I got the holder! lol!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - very useful. These were the screw-in ones.

Looking away from rising sun

Storm surge had this entire beach inundated today @ 2am, (according to patrol officer who I had a conversation with this am.). Relatively calm surf at present, not as many seagulls as usual, (I've been noticing them flying inland since this last Sunday).

Love both photos, great colors, great composition!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Great shots, WC. Love the first.

People are crazy!

Thomaston, CT

Wish I lived near the ocean....well, not during hurricane time! Nice photos!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Me too, though I'm too lazy to be up at sunrise!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

( Thanks guys )

- yep, surfers are always nuts, these aren't typical crazy kids though, these are those serious older surfers in their mid to late 20's.
- I've always made sure I've lived close to the ocean, I just can't see myself ever living far from it...

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I can get to the ocean in less than an hour, but thats still too far. ^_^

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Guess we can cross off Kansas from the list of possible retirement destinations, WC??

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Definitely.
lol!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

You'd have to really develop your surfcasting muscles!

Thomaston, CT

I can get to LIS in an hour, but that's not like the open ocean......will be hanging out on the coast after Bill's RU.

Nice!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Had breakfast by the shore, spent about an hour there. There was an acoustics engineer working the shoreline taking 'sound bytes/ samples' and about a dozen other people just hanging out by the beach watching the 14' waves when it started to rain.
Then I went to check out a few other places I know of by the coast, but the roads were inundated and the level was still rising from the ocean surge which had gone over the dunes overnight. Didn't want to get stuck, (in seawater no less), so I headed away from the coastline.

Thomaston, CT

Love that silver photo....you were smart not to go through the seawater....

great shots

Terrific photo work, good eye

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

- Thanks ☺

- Yes, my car doesn't take well to seawater,(lol). Even if I had gotten though with my 4x4 some salt would still have remained in some nooks & crannies and eventually given me a hard time w/ the electronics. I always rinse the underside after I go on the dunes, but this would have been just plain irresponsible.
- And expensive, lol!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Anybody interested in a boat?? Needs a bit of work, but looks real solid. WC?? Nice for fishing!

- The house they should let go (lol!)

- Nice shots!
