My neighbor has planted a wall of leyland crypress on the property boundary. They are about 30 feet tall and very well established. Although I enjoy the privacy, they seem to suck everything dry and I can get little to grow or thrive in that area. I recently moved a raised bed to the area thinking it would be above the draining roots, but the garden did poorly and upon turning the dirt for the fall crop, I found several crypress roots. Is there anything that will grow in this environment?
Thanks,
