I know we all talk about our plants and I see on another site they do a Winter Sowing Seed Exchange, and they do Round Robin exchanges. So I though hey why not do it here.
We could each send in 5 pernennial packs and 5 veggie seed packs suitable also for cold zones.
I don't mind hosting, or if someone has done this before and has the time, I have no problem letting someone else do this... (Just don't run off with our big bag of seeds....LOL...)
What do you all think?

How about we do a Round Robin Flower / Veggie Seed Exchange?
How come there is no interest here?
Lets just do a multi exchange like I have going on the GardenWeb.
Nancy.
Sorry there's no interest but maybe if you explain how it works for all the newbies???
I'm not interested because I didn't even get to plant all my seeds this season
Not really interested here either ... just getting started ... still lots of seeds to experiment with. Maybe once I get into it a little more ...
Well for those of you who have never done this. It works two ways. First the round robin... each person puts seeds in an envelope and sends them to a person on the list, EX:... 1 sends to 2, 2 sends to 3, 3 sends to 4, 4 sends to 5, and lastly, 5 sends to 1. Everyone gets new seeds for only the cost of the envelope and the postage.
Second seed exchange, the one I am doing now, is thus..... People join the list. Everyone sends in 10 packages of seeds, only 2 duplicates per package (or more once decided), they also send either a label with postage or a stamped self addressed envelope for return of the seeds to the host. The host sorts out the seeds, so that each person gets different seeds and remails back to everyone.
The second method I think is better, because if a person sends, say marrigolds, and gets marrigolds they are disappointed.
Evnelopes are marked with they name of the seed within, and if they are annual or pren.
It is a nice way to get new seeds and make more friends, I think.
This can be done with plants too, but I think that might be harder for us to do right now.
Nancy.
Hi... depending on where you live, you might just want to do direct sowing. There are many ways of doing this.
I like to section off an area of my garden, I use 2x4's nailed together to make a square, I sometimes, instead of the bords, I also use a collar I make from brightly colored laundry bottles, top and bottom cut out. I do this because in the spring I can then see where I planted my seeds with no problem.
You then put in as many seeds as you want in the area you pick, cover those seeds that must be covered and leave it till spring.
This is the way nature reseeds plants.
This method would certainly take care of the seeds you have not planted yet but want too.
Or if you just don't have the time to plant what you have, get new ones by sending in the old ones to an exchange.
The method of direct sow will work for any plant that reseeds itself.
Nancy.
