Roses

Howard City, MI(Zone 5b)

My roses all bloomed early in the summer, but haven't bloomed again since. Why is this?

Some roses only bloom in Spring. Which type do you have? Can you post pictures?

Also some rebloomers may not bloom until later this year and even into late fall.

Stranj, my roses when I had them bloomed every 6 wks, but then I like the hardy ones...

There are many different flowering time for different types of roses. Wild roses bloom once in Spring then not until the next year. There are rebloomers, some bloom continuously and still others bloom every 6-8 weeks. Dead-heading is important for rebloomers and continuous ones. Some bloom on new growth and others bloom on old wood from the year before.

It's important to know which yours is so we can help you with your question.

Blush Noisette amd The Fairy bloom continuously for me all season. I have never pruned or deadheaded either of them.
Also Blush Noisette has the best fragrance of any rose I grow and the scent carries through the air.

Also make sure you fertilize them once a month with Rosetone (organic) or another fertilizer. Roses are heavy feeders, so that should help. You can also put some Bloom Booster type fertilizer, but I wouldn't do that too much. I prefer to let them do things naturally.
