Very nice everyone.
I am partial to the purple dahlia too Robin.
Bill nice evergreen cypress and coreopsis .
Onewish those are some gorgeous begonias. Hard to pick just one.
Also both BES vine pics pixie and onewish. Never have tried those, they are quite adorable.

Did some remodeling on the hobbit house and elves homestead yesterday. Some new doors have been ordered with birthday money so needed a spruce up. Still under construction but I took some pics.
This is the Hobbit house on the back slope.

Here are the Hobbit doors. I got the tenth one with the window on top and natural wood. http://www.gnomegarden.net/product/wooden-%20gnome-door
The pointed one I ordered was the dark frame with blue. Will post another pic when they are completed. I think the grandkids will get a kick out of them.

Thanks everyone. I checked this am and they are holding up well with all the heavy rain so far. I hope a toad doesn't decide to move in, they have other places in the garden, there will be a door on both so I wouldn't like to lock a toad in or out.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Took some pix this AM.
Mist and rain make it too wet.I did manage half an hour of good weeding in the moist soil.Crabgrass comes out well, no roots for next year.Dandilions too,the ones that have grown into the JI's.

Very, very pretty JoAnn. Nice to see that lily still in bloom. Your garden is looking lush and green and those are some lovely combos of plants. The good news with the rain besides hearing the garden sigh is that it is perfect slug hunting weather, I only found two so am encouraged the invasion has been stopped, and the weeds will triple in size and number is the bad news. I am just happy for the rain finally.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

The lilies were planted late.Black Beauties. They will be ontime next year.
Rain is good, we are getting mist and drizzle.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

That looks like the lilies that my nieghbor has right now too.

Everytime we go over there he walks around his yard with my daughter and a pair of scissors cutting flowers for her.
Here's the latest batch

That is lovely thing for him to do and very pretty flowers. Many, many years ago a neighbor did the same with me. Some of my best memories.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

They last a long time and bloom late...Black Beauty , Rubrum Lily, and Lilium speciosum var. rubrum 'Uchida'.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I need to get me some of them.

My neighbors are wonderful...he tells me the other day "ya know your kids are our surrogate grandkids"
