What can I do with these now that they have just about finished blooming and look pretty straggly. I am going to put new mulch on the front part of the bed and wondered if I could just do the whole bed. I think the primrose would come up through it, it's pretty tough stuff. My daughter is getting married in our backyard next month so got to get things spruced up around here! :) Thanks for your help!
Pink Missouri Primrose
We have primrose growing wild all along the interstate here in Vicksburg and, in spite of the highway department mowing it every year, it always comes back. I don't see why you couldn't prune it back some and cover it with a light layer of mulch to hide it for your daughter's wedding. The light mulch would also make it easier to set out pots of flowers so it will look pretty for the wedding. Congratulations to your daughter and I hope she has a very long and happy marriage.
I agree, MO Primrose is a tough cookie, my big dog would stomp on them and they always came back. Trim and mulch lightly.
