I know you all have heard this some umpteenmillion times...but here goes the umpteenthmillion and one time.
Does anyone know where I can purchase the Kaleidoscope Butterfly Bush locally? I have really only seen maybe two color kinds.
I did purchase two seedlings...they are about 18 - 20 inches in height with one lone bloom on each. I will be transplanting their new home in the front near a window. But...I was so hoping for a more substantial planting...I want to be sure of it's show next season. They are part of the focal point which will includes a solar birdbath w/a garden arch over it. The arch will have Jasmine vines on either side (the type that can take full sun) and the garden will be constructed of cinder blocks with multi color flowers in the holes of the blocks.
I love to sit out and watch the butterflies and birds enjoying them.
BUT...as I said...the butterfly bush is really important to this. IF I can find them. Thanks

If you're willing to do mail order, there are several sources listed in Plant Scout that carry it. The official name for it is Buddleia 'Bicolor' so if you google for that you may find additional sources as well.

If you buy from one of the Plant Scout sources, they all have decent ratings but if you want to get it from somewhere else I'd make sure to look the company up in Garden Watchdog first before you buy--there are several less than stellar mail order places that offer this plant and it's better to find that out before you buy rather than after.
This is where I got mine from and it's doing great. Such a lovely frangrance and I don't think I've looked out the window without seeing butterflies on it. Sometimes three at a time. We planted it last year and pruned it and it came back bigger and more beautiful this year. We love it and I will be propagating it to hopefully have more next year.

Wait a minute, Dirt_Lover. That picture shows a butterfly bush (Buddleia) and a Lantana planted together. What's up with that?
Yep, they're planted right next to each other and they have put on a show all summer long. The butterflies dance and play in that corner of the garden all day. Sometimes 4 or 5 at a time. We have really enjoyed them. And I have a Gaillardia Goblin right in front of them too that isn't tall enough to see in the picture.
