dying tree

hi i have an eastern redbud in my back yard and it keeps dying. im not sure what im doing wrong, we have had a lot of rain so i havent watered it in about 4 weeks. can anyone help please. i dont want to loose this tree its so beautiful.

I picture might help. Also, information like when was it planted, how big is it, and exactly how is it dying (top down, bottom up, etc)?

How much sun is it getting? They're understory trees in nature, so if it's in full blazing TX sun that could be contributing to the problem. But I agree--some pictures and a little more info would really help.

As ecrane says, it is an understory tree so if it's out in full sun, that could easily be your problem. Did you just plant it this year and how tall is it? If it's small enough, you could try erecting something to shade it from the hot sun. Also, is it growing in clay soil or well drained? I successfully got one going in the sun in my front yard but I didn't plant it till fall when the sun wasn't so hot. I had to keep it well watered for the first three years and now it's growing very well. I also used Super Thrive to help the tree until it was well established. Hope you can get your tree to live--they are indeed beautiful trees.
