Can anyone give me any help getting rid of spider mites? I have gardened over 30 years, and have always been plagued by them. When I moved to WA from the south I hoped it was a southern thing- but they are just as bad here. I am using Pyrethrins, I have a mister nozzle I use daily to try to break up the webs, and just now I sprayed some 1:3 alcohol & water as per a link I found last night. They seem to be totally happy with the alcohol cocktail! Any help would be much appreciated. I am thinking of pulling them up and planting more seed and see if there is time left to mature.
Cross post- spider mites on my beans
I use organicide and colloidal soap, be sure to spray the undersides of the leaves and don't spray in the hot sun. You will have to spray every few days until they are gone.
A non organic alternative is permethrin. Takes about three weeks to get them under control, spraying once every 7-10 days.
