LILY OF THE VALLEY

When can you relocate or transplant Lily of the Valley?

Calgary, AB(Zone 3b)

As they are extremely tough plants that are pretty well impossible to kill, you could really do it whenever it is convenient for you. If you did it in fall or early spring, however, it would probably be less disruptive to the flowering cycle, and to the aesthetics of your flower beds.

I made the mistake of planting a lily of the valley under a bleeding heart...the bleeding heart had covered it completely and I've never see the lovely l-o-v bloom. I guess I'll replant it, when I get a shade garden built...

Lily of the Valley will spread and take over any area. If you really want them (as I once did) give them an area all by themselves. I finally removed 90% of mine when they invaded an area with lilies.
