Roses in trouble

Lake Forest, IL

What does it mean when your roses are in the bud stage already start browning at the edge. Once they bloom they look like they have dead edges and they die quickly.

Can you post some pictures?

Sounds like a fungus or rot. Happens to roses when the rainy season starts and or the rose is'nt getting as much sun as it needs every day.
I would use: "Bayer Advanced, all-in-one, rose & flower care" (liquid form).
Apply that near the base of the rose once a week for two weeks in a row, then after that follow the directions as it says to do, and you should see that problem go away within 3 - 4 weeks. Good luck.

Would you call your doctor to tell him "I've got a sharp stabbing pain in my chest" and expect him to diagnose it over the phone? And in turn, would you expect him to respond "that sounds like a heart attack, we'll need to do surgery right away"? Um, no.
On that note, I'd agree with ecrane that pictures would help since we can't see our "patient" in person and you should never use any kind of treatment until you're more sure of what you're treating :)
