I have an amaryllis bulb. It flowered at christmas time and it was lovely. It's still producing leaves; however it appears to have a baby attached to it; as there is a big leaf coming up no where near the bulb. It's only a centimeter or so wide but it's about 30cm long; I'm just wondering when would be it safe to remove it and how would I do it? I'd love to anaryllis plants (when it finally gets big enough to get flowers :))
Amaryllis
You can remove the little bulbet when it is about 1/3 the size of the parent bulb. The first couple of years it will concentrate on growing and supporting foliage. It will probably be 2-3 years before blooms appear.

Is there a good time for removing it?
