Duc, Love the Grebe shots!

Nanny, Nice ones of the Purple Martins, Robin etc!

Missy, So good to see the Kite!

Burd, Wonderful shots of the Caspian Tern and others!

Susan, Love the Goldfinch and Flicker!

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

This Osprey has taken up nearly full time residence in a big pine that overlooks our back fence. It has a direct line of sight on the squirrels that run along the top of the fence to get to the feeders.. I noticed that since the osprey arrived, the squirrel food has hardly been touched, the blue jays are taking the peanuts. The small birds know that the Osprey isn't interested in them: I see mockingbirds, cardinals and bluejays coming and going within striking distance of the Osprey.

Nanny, the Purple Martins are so cute! Great photo of your Robin.

Missy, that juvie Kite is just beautiful. You're so lucky to be able to see this in your yard.

SusanLouise, your Robin is a cutie. I think that little one has found a good home. Your Goldfinches look so pretty. Love that Dove stretching.

Burd, that Sparrow feeding the Cowbird is adorable. I feel sorry for mom having to work twice as hard to feed this large baby. Great photos of the waterfowl-especially that one diving shot.

bsharf, hope you'll enjoy all the loud chatter when the Osprey little ones start arriving and growing. Looking forward to lots of photos.

This is my favorite picture of the Western Grebe on the nest. She looks as surprised as I was when she stood up and there was an egg.

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Adel, that more quail chicks than I've seen here. They sure are cute.

Nanny, love the Purple Martins. Are those all juveniles?

bootandall, great picture of your terns.

This isn't the greatest photo, but I just kept laughing while I was watching this very young Scrub Jay try to balance on the branch.

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Here's another juvie. They sure have a lot of personality.

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

This young Mockingbird was really enjoying our neighbors' blackberry bushes. Good thing the neighbors are out of town, I don't think they'd be very happy.

Thumbnail by ducbucln
Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

We've been seeing this large Red-tailed Hawk fly past the house every day for over a week now.

Thumbnail by ducbucln
Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

I got worried when I found this Turkey Vulture sitting on our neighbor's fence a few days ago. I guess it was just resting because it took off a little later.

This very young Bewick's Wren was having trouble balancing on the edge of the deck.

I'm arriving a little late (77 posts already), but,

2dCousinDave - great start, lots of fab pics, too.

ducbucln - super capture of the the Grebs running on the water! AND she absolutely looks shocked to see that egg. AND the young scrub jay trying to sit on the limb was a grin.

JulieQ - enjoyed your Cardinal pics.

Mrs_Ed - nice pic of the female GOFIN, mine visit my bird bath fairly regularly.

nanny_56 - I've never seen a Purple Martins, I enjoyed yours.

thebestmissy - Sweet shot of the juvi Mississippi Kite. (PS I flew out of Dallas/Ft Worth Airport this AM to return to Ga.)

SusanLouise - I guess the Robin was a fledgling when you started feeding it? AND WOW, you were covered up with GOFIN's.

Burd_Fotos - very nice, I particularly like the Great Blue Heron in it wetland habitat.

bsharf - you can send that Osprey my way, I have a few squirrels it can have.

VA_Wild_Rose - you sure mailed that female Osprey. man!

bootandall - I don't know one Tern from the next, but I liked your pic.

Columbus, GA(Zone 8a)

Been in Austin to visit my son and daughter-in-law for his 30th birthday and just got back to Columbus.

It was raining out, but I did manage to snap a couple pics.

Here's a male Cardinal, I guess, enjoying a cool summer shower.
