Calla lily

Wheaton, IL(Zone 5b)

This is my first year growing Calla lilies. I have 4 pink ones in a 10" pot. They all bloomed very well at first, but the last few "flowers" have been mostly green, with only a little pink on the inside. The flowers also flop over, stems don't seem to be able to hold them up. They are on my porch, facing west, but don't get direct sun until late in the afternoon. Perhaps they are not getting enough sun?? Or are they too crowded in the pot??

Some info for you....looks like yours may be too crowded.

Rhizomes in containers should be planted just 3 inches deep
Calla lilies enjoy being kept moist and will also benefit from a monthly dose of fertilizer throughout the growing season.

Elijablue, are you sure the green blooms aren't just old blooms? They turn green as they mature. They can take a lot of sun but you might still get one or two that fall over. In my experience anyway.

Thanks for your advice flowerjen and killdawabbit. I have been keeping them moist and fertilizing monthly. They may be a bit crowded. I don't think they are older blooms, as I don't even notice them unless I go looking for them - they just blend in so well with the foliage. I'll try a little more fertilizer for now, and space them better next season.
