I was told to use a product called "Holly Tone" to fertilize my camellias because it is good for acid loving plants. I put some on the soil about a year ago. My question is this: How often should I apply the stuff? Once a year? every 6 months? Any insights here would be appreciated.
Fertilizing Camellias
I'm pretty sure the HollyTone bag recommends fertilizing every three to six months. It's a slow-release fertilizer with a fairly low does of Nitrogen so it's hard to over do it (which is a good thing). Also, if you just planted them you'll want to wait about a year before you give them anything other than root stimulator.
