Morning Glories 2010 #13
Emma, I love your half and half. ALOT. ;) I have several of the lime green leaved morning glorys around. Wish I had tagged them better. I was out watering until past dark and when I bent down to water the Lobata pot by the door step out back I was greeted by two little Lavender moon flowers...
Between all the four o clocks, the daturas, the brugs and the jasmines, I just can't seem to want to go inside the house tonight. Even with it being over 80 outside right now, it is so heavenly. I love it at night on my patio..
Jackie, I keep my caudex plants in the basement garden during winter. I have three different species so far.. ( That I have kept)
Thanks for that info Emma. Mine will stay in it's pot to be
on the safe side.
Debra, I will green house it for the winter, thanks.

You are very welcome, Jackie
Debra - Thank you!
I think the Half & Half bloom is a beauty too. I hand-pollinated and tagged that bloom and will look forward to growing it out again.
Now, to make your night time patio area even more enjoyable and relaxing, do you have Ipomoea alba growing too?
Wow! What a nice fragrance
Nice blooms, Linda. I love that choc silk. It is beautiful. Oh, I lose tags too, mostly they fade out.
Emma, I have 14 seeds of Alba around the property, I only found 6 up and vining. Maybe in August We will see White Moons all over at night.
Here is hoping.
Zinniared, what size pot do you have that in? I might try growing one on my porch too !
Thanks joeswife. I think the pot size is 1/2 gallon. It needs to be
transplanted into bigger pot.
Debra -
Great that you do have albas up. Wonderful that you have those to also enjoy.
zinniared,
AWESOME ROSE SILK
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=7992767
I have one from today that is a first bloom that has slight striations on Chocolate Silk
Linda, what a beautiful Rose/Choc silk. Glad you're enjoying it.
I love your blue with the lav throat too. Very pretty.
Nice blooms Emma
Excuse how dusty this vine is. Growing on the fence where my dogs
run back and forth, dirt flying everywhere
Blue Blizzard. I should have planted this one in a pot, different
from last yr's bloom.
Jackie, I can't wait for my blizzards to bloom. I have buds so here is hoping.
Emma, that blue and white flower in the above post is really different. What is its name? It is now on a list of WANT..
Got a FEW drops of rain tonite. whoo hoo.. was 102 here today. My stictocardia is now the span of the two windows in the front of the house. If it would just bloom.
My cypress vines are blooming in the gloriosa daiseys and the coneflowers. Very pretty/ came in mg swap.

Grrrrrrrrr Emma ! no comments ! I'm jealous !
Every single day, it is a joy for me to come to this thread to see the beauties you are all growing!
Thanks to all of you for sharing your gorgeous photos, it somehow makes my coffee taste better!
That is so awsome, Joseph, as I have not seen any of mine and the seedling I moved outside croaked. Do you have any pictures of the baby seedlings?
I will be going back out into the country in another month or so to collect seeds from Kansas Pandy. I will get enough to share again. Thanks, Jackie.
I might have a vine, I just need to see the young leaves to be sure.
Yes, just add a 2nd name like Rainbow Delight or Rainbow Sherbert
so you can reuse
the Rainbow part over and over. A whole series of rainbow blooms :-)
I like the sectioned colors in the above bloom, very pretty.
I love that one too. Love the whites with variations of specs, stripes and pastels.
Lol Emma, leave it to me to be a year too late with a name.
I didn't have a clue. :-)
Nice bloom Joseph.
I'm quite lacking in info on these matters, but on the naming of new plants, it reminds me, "sorta, kinda" of how they name race horses; they take a concept of the parents, and carry it forward into the next generation.
So that the casual reader would recognize it as a derivation.
But with MGs, every single one is so beautiful, I personally wouldn't even care about parentage, they are all so exquisite!
Thank you Debra and BA
Joseph, That is a great Bloom and the leaves are Variegated!
What a great color AND photo.
Too funny, Jackie -
I seriously like your name idea using Rainbow. I'll have to put some thought to that. Rainbow Sherbert sounds nice!
Actually, I do have several vines growing with pastel colors -
The last three I posted and this one are all different Crosses from different vines
ah...everyone's got great flowers...I've got some new babies coming along but will have to wait for flowers for awhile. IF I can keep everything alive...we're lacking on rain and it's been blistering hot/humid.
MJ -
I am looking forward to seeing your awesome new blooms. We are also having a heck of a hot streak. Last I looked at weather, it said cloudy and partly scattered T-Storms this week - Well, that was a hoot. Not a drop of rain and not cloudy.
Joseph -
Holy Smokes. I knew you had your bad mite attack, but to make those leaves look variegated! Your poor plants. I hope you get those little monsters under control
Very Cool....I'm running in/out....working awhile then cooling off......ughhhhhhhh
Yowzaah !!!
That HIGE mix is so delicate and beautiful !
