squash problem
You might want to check for squash bugs. The lay bronze colored eggs on the leaves. The dudes hang around the roots but will move up when you water them. Pyrethrin (SP) dust to the root areas helps if that is your problem. Best of luck.

Thanks, I will give it a try. Is there a chance that they will recover?
Another thing to check. Do the leaves have a white powder look to them? If so, they have powdery mildew and you should spray with a fungicide.

Mine did and they looked pretty bad after the infestation hit.
Good advice on the fungicide also. If you do have squash bugs the fungus attacks areas they are feeding.
