I have several patches of Black Eyed Susan along a border on the north side of my house.
I noticed that some of the plants have a disease that causes the leaves to turn dark brown at the edges
and curl. It has affected all of the leaves on one plant though the stem on that plant seems alive for now. The diseased
plants are isolated in an otherwise healthy stand of plants.
The disease seems to move slowly. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what the disease is and what the treatment is?
Thanks, Jimwaddell
Disease of Black Eyed Susan??
Can you post some pictures?
Right now I can't post a picture, However, I looked at the diseased plants again today and the
disease seems to affect the leaves individually, the rest of the plant seems healthy. I pulled one leaf
and looked at it closely and one half of it had turned brown and curled and the remaining half looked
healthy, no wilting or anything like that. The disease does eventually kill the whole plant as I said in my initial
post. Even after all of the leaves are dead the plant stem appears strong and firm.

Is this a fungus or form of black spot? I've had the same problem too. It made me did 'em all up--they were so unsightly! :-(
