First of all I am glad that I came accross this website, I am truely a beginner in growing pretty much anything. I've had some house plants in the past but eventually they end up dieing .
Well this year I get a wild hair and now I think I need some guidance. I bought the strawberry topsy turvey, and then I decided I should fill this with not just strawberrys but other veggies.
Here is the layout of my TT: bottom rows: cucumbers, and green beans. Middle rows:tomatoes. Top rows: strawberrys.
The directions say that I can have up to 15 or so plants in it. I don't have that many, maybe 2-3 a piece. My problem is everything is growing like crazy! And that is exciting to me, but I am also nervous. Things are starting to grow together, my cucs are getting really thick stems and big leaves, and the cutest little baby cucs!!! I've taken string and kind of tied those plants up, but that won't last long.
What should I do??: Let em grow and do nothing? Take the bigger plants out and put them somewhere else? Another pot?
For the first time ever I have grown healthy beautiful plants and now I am afraid they are going to snuff each other out or break from there weight.
Any advice??? Thank you very much!
Veggie overload what should I do??
Hi schantzie! Welcome to Dave's!
I visited Sheridan many years ago on a trip to Colorado. Decided to check out the wilds of Wyoming - lol. Beautiful place to live!
My experience with those topsy turvy planters was not good, but I also live in the desert and they just required too much water for me. I garden in raised beds but tried one of those for giggles- lol.
A picture would be nice if you have one. I'm having a hard time picturing your arrangement. They are all planted in the same planter?
I would say if it ain't broke don't fix it. Your stuff seems to be growing well. My oncern would be everything having enough root room and nutients if they are all planted together...

Thanks for replying back. Yes it is beautiful here in Sheridan, its a great place to live! I went out to take a picture to post here but it is just the wrong time of day to get a good shot. So I'll try again in the morning after I get home from work.
Looking forward to the picture - maybe then I can figure out in my head what your set up looks like - lol. I think the heat is getting to me...
I like hearing that you are having this problem, it could be so much worse: )
LOL Lisa - soooooooooooo true!
Yes. Pictures, please!
I'm going to set up my TT planter tree tomorrow. I have a few leggy cherry tomatoes that I was going to use. Perhaps I can do something similar to schantzie and put some lemon cukes and purple basils into the same TT.
I wish I had your problems.
Schantzie,
Where are the pics?
Maybe Schantzie has been buried by veggies?
Maybe the killer veggies ATE her? "Feeeeeeeed me, Baaaaaaaaaby!"
