we were getting ready to leave yesterday and I noticed 3 redtailed hawks I guess just playing they were soaring all round and there were several other small birds hanging out with them too,I was lucky to get a bad shot
Awful Bird Pics Vol. 16
duc thats almost a really great shot !!!
does anyone know if those nasty hosp, will kick wrens and their babies out of a house? I had just said to the dh I havent seen any hosp, then I saw one on the perch of the house where there were baby wrens, and it was hanging out a bit. Then mama wren came back and she was very sheepish to fly up to the house then she did and she was just sitting looking in the empty house, then she dropped down to the ground and hopped into the tall weeds .Iam hoping she found her babies, they were close to fledging but I dont know how close, stinking hosp...
I don't think they will hesitate to take over what ever they want......
well they are just awful birds, arent they..GGRRR
I hope things aren't as you fear huggergirl.
Just a side note, I'm looking out the window and I cannot believe all the butterflies today -- Giant Swallowtail, Queens, Black Swallowtails, Polydamas.
I think I have a yellow-rumped warbler back there today. It's some kind of warbler and the other birds -- house sparrows, chickadees -- are being just vicious to it. It just landed in front of the window just now -- very small -- might be a vireo. Took off when I tried to focus.
Also, new bird feeder and so far the only thing that has figured out how to feed from it is a big old squirrel.
OK, back to bad pics, I should check this thread more often. It really makes me feel better to know that everyone has bad shots. This is a double whammy. I was trying to focus on the juvi male Orchard Oriole in the front but instead it focused on background stuff. Might have been OK because there was a pretty male House finch back there, but his head is behind a leaf.
Oops, this is the wrong pic. Both are blurry in this one, but at least in this one, they both have heads. Not sure what is in focus here.

good 1 ...LOL
Yep, Nanny, that's really awful. I put one on the bird ID forum yesterday that was worse!
Burd, I can see the eye! As long as you can see the eye, it's good in my book.
I think I can see the eye in this one but not sure. It's a Great Crested Flycatcher who was hiding from me rather successfully. I also realized while watching him that I'd forgotten insect repellent. I had to hurry back to my car, so this was the best that I got.
