dwarf bush honesuckle - diervilla lonicera

Rapid City, SD

Just bought a dwarf bush honeysuckle (diervilla lonicera) on sale, but would like to know if anyone else has planted it and how they have liked it? Is it invasive? Do the deer like it? Cheap enough I can throw it away if it is a problem plant. One website says it grows up to 4 feet tall, another says maximum of 2'. The tag says 3-4 feet

Put one in last fall, it bloomed lightly for me this year. Don't know about deer, the rabbits are a problem for me so all shrubs get fenced over winter. Should have nice fall color, that's why I got it. Give it a couple of years, see what happens.

Yes, it does spread by suckers but not too rampantly. Our (very old) one gets to 3' tall.
