WESTERN HUMMINGBIRDS VOL. 11

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

The sun wasn't quite up so the spray was fairly low. This one took advantage.

Not the best photo, but I liked this one.

Beautiful shots Duc! I love to see the bathing ones...too cute. I don't think the Ruby-throated bathe like the Anna's do. The only time I see them bathe is in the rain of if I have the mister going!

I love those bath picrtues. Just HAVE to find that kind of fountain. Solar isn't, however, all that effective here in the PNW. At least not effective enough to count on.

So cute!

Get that camera out Huggergirl! We all would love to see photos of your birds!

I finally got a picture of my one Rufous (or it may be an Allen's) hummer.

I was watching two hummers in the birdbath when this little girl decided to land on a rock just under the fountain spray. She just stayed there and rubbed her head and feathers in the water coming down the rock.

The water must have good because she just stayed there.

Her mom taught her to clean her head real good.

She looked up at me as if to say come on in, the water is great!

Duc, I know you have probably done this before, but could you PLEASE show a picture of your whole fountain? Thanks.

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

oh what a fun series.

Hey, don't you have a whole collection of fountains?

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Sure Mountain Girl, here it is. I put different rocks in it every day so they don't turn green.

Mrs Ed, yes, I have 5 different birdbaths but just 3 have the fountains.

Excellent shots duc!! That little girl is absolutely precious!

Thanks for the pic, Duc you have given me some food for thought. I have a minor issue with fountains as the short hairs, particularly the young one, think cords are toys for them to play tug with.

Time to start a new thread. Thank you all for your kind comments and I hope to find more people in the western states that will share their pictures.

We'll start the new photos here-
