i bought a bunch of plants in the spring and planted most of them. i have some lilium left to plant, so at this point in the summer i'm waiting until fall to do it. i water them everyday and they get good sun. today i looked at them and they had small bulbous things at the base of each plant. i don't know what they are. i picked a couple off and one had a root-like string attached. should i pick them all off and maybe plant some, leave them where they are, or pick 'em and ditch 'em??? thank you much in advance!
lilium
You should plant them... they are bulb offsets, and will eventually produce more flowering lilies (when mature, in a couple years or so) of the same kind.
alta ... thank you so much. i got the same reply from 2 other helpful people on another page. i LOVE this forum! ain't it great to have so many FRIENDS around like you to get help from. YUP!!
