Fall Mass RU/ Food Thread
I'll bring a large bowl of mixed salad greens i.e.Boston lettuce,Radicio,Arugula etc.
I'll ask what Angela will bring ? and we can add it.Or she can bring that and I make a german potatoe salad.
Does that sound ok ?
PS:please add Angela
sounds good to me!
Deviled eggs for sure....may also be adding one person.
Can I come just for the food?
Yes!!!!
^_^
hold on all the canucks i know eat A LOuT and never turned down a beverage :)
where did that u come from?
You are SO lucky that I am more than a hop, skip and jump away or you would be leekless this year wha. Also I will miss kicking your butt at shoes sigh. How's the work thing going? Are you becoming a garden slacker?
LOL, Dnut!!! Aren't you heading in our direction at some point soon? Can you speed it up and make it down for Bill's RU??? You could be the Surprise Guest.....I won't snitch on ya!
We are still planning a trip DonnieB. I think it's probably gonna be 2012 unless of course I just book it for 2011 (tee, hee). There will be plenty of notice cuz I want to see everyone's gardens. Do you still have Thadeus the turtle? He is on my list of beings to meet when we come to the NE.
Allison said she will swing by and pick me up - so I will be there. Food to be decided later.
only have 100 leek out there - keep away :)
LOL
and work is just like it was - work
You are SO lucky I'm not in MA wha. Soooooooo lucky.
Can't plan my food this far out...will let you know.
That's great, Memory!! And don't worry about declaring food at this point....there's plenty of time!!! I'm also going to wait a bit before starting a plant swap thread so that everyone will have a good idea of what they are bringing/wanting. I started this thread now in order to get the list of people coming, primarily!
Isn't someone bringing chili? Mmm I can't wait! I will probably just watch the thread to see what everyone else is bringing and then bring something missing. I don't really have any specialties.
I can do chili
come on we only have two months to figure out the food lets get going :)
I thought I read somewhere that someone was bringing their famous chili? And she said she makes it different every time, but someone said it was always good.... am I just imagining this? lol I have had some ideas, but everything I think of isn't really stuff that travels well or is meant to be served room temp.... I'm sure I can think of something in two months! : )
Yes....Liza made some really good chili in a crock pot for our RU last year. She was forced into bringing chili again ...lol....and I'm sure it will be good, John!! I make it the same way.....just throw stuff in, no measuring, so it's never quite the same as the last batch.
When our weekend guests leave, I'll catch up on the lists.......Glad to hear you are coming, Perenniallyme!!!
Thanks! : )
I'll take the next month to think about it, I've done raspberry apple crisp the last 2 RU's.
We have a little further to travel this time.
I'm thinking I will bring a few things ^_^
Maybe some fresh blueberry muffins: made w/BB from my yard
Pumpkin bread: if the pumpkins don't croak
and some type of hot dish.....will think on this one.
MMM...glad I'll be there to taste!
Don't know exactly what might be needed. . . would be glad to fill in when the menu is decided. OR I could sign up now for My Famous Brownies, topped with nuts and well worth the calories (IMHO!) ;-)
brownies sound good!
Getting hungry here.......yummmmm! I like the sound of Celeste's and Emily's ideas!! With the number we have coming, I think it's fine if more than one person brings the same dish or same type of dish! It will be a wonderful feast just from what we have so far!! And Debi - your raspberry crisp was delicious!! I'll put you down for that and you can change it if you want to????
sure Louise, and maybe something not dessert
Sounds great, Debi! That's what I'm going to do too...dessert and something else that'll fill a gap. Your crisp was a terrific fall dessert!! It's hard now in the warmer weather to think of good fall dishes. Remember how cold it was at our house last year??? That hot chili of Liza's really hit the spot!
The fire place & hot cider warmed us all up, Louise...it was lovely.
Thanks, Marilyn! We thoroughly enjoyed it!
ohhh if they are making chili... I will make something else
No need to, Allison, if you want to do that. We are up to at least 27 people, so two pots of chili won't be excessive!! Your call, of course! I'll change the list if you prefer to make a change!
i vote for more chili!
alrighty then
Good call! Bill will probably put in a few extra electric outlets for us outside for all the crock pots I'm pleading for! LOL He's handy, so it shouldn't be a problem! I left my crock pot in Florida, or else I'd probably be bringing chili too. :)
