I'm in Ottawa Ontario Canada
just put a beautiful orleander plant on the patio outdoors. temps about 44C and humid and dry.
but leaves are going a full yellow. not streaky like that disease i just read about. yellow. is this not enough water or too much? i love the flowers once they have opened up.
pink orleander. first shrub. in a pot. on a patio. zone 4?
Yellow leaves can be either too much or too little water--I'd try sticking your finger down a few inches into the soil and see how wet it feels. That ought to give you a clue on whether one of those is a possibility. Oleanders are drought tolerant and don't need a lot of water, so overwatering is a definite possibility, but in containers they will need more water than they would in the ground and with the hot temperatures you've been having underwatering could be just as likely.
A couple other possibilities...44C is really hot, so especially if it's in a sunny area and the pot is dark colored the heat can get absorbed by the pot and basically cook the roots, which could cause yellowing leaves too. If that's the case, I'd try putting it somewhere that the pot isn't baking in the sun during the hottest hours of the day and see if that helps.
And lastly, you mention that you just put it out on the patio...where was it before that? If it had been living indoors, it'll need to be gradually adjusted to outdoor light levels or else the leaves can get sunburned. If you had it inside prior to this, I'd probably bring it back inside until your heat wave is over, then when the weather's a little cooler try putting it outside in an area that doesn't get any direct sun, and work it up gradually to getting more sunlight.
