I have an ant colony living at the base of my jalapeno plant. I believe they are protein ants (at least that is what a buddy who was visiting and works for a pest control service told me they were). I live in Hawaii were there are no fire ants so i know they arent those. How do i get them to leave! I read online that cinnamon works so i just sprinkled alot over that area and i will wait to see if that works; however, when i read about it, it seems more for trails of ants and not used for uprooting a colony...does anyone else have any remedies they have used for this situation and know it works and doesnt do harm to the plant (especially one that i am gonna eat)?
ants! how to get rid of them
Not being familiar with your climate and area I suggest you contact your extension office.
Grab a couple of the ants and put in a vial of rubbing alcohol and take them with you.
