Sports Talk!! Part 4

Thomaston, CT

Me, too....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Always seems to be him or Nadal.

South Hamilton, MA

That's because they are the 2 most talented players out there. they will lose when more players with the skill arrive.

Thomaston, CT

Not many young American women on the tour....sad to see.

South Hamilton, MA

No, a large dropoff after the Williams sisters, & Venus especially is having knee problems.

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

Do any of you play fantasty football?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

not me

South Hamilton, MA

I have more sense & not enough cents to do that.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

My idea of Fantasy Football is different.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I'm sure it is!

South Hamilton, MA

Watched the tennis the last couple nights.

Thomaston, CT

I did, too, Iris....enjoyed the match with Nadal....that fellow was super!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Haven't watched any yet. Heard one of the women collapsed today. Not surprised with this heat.

Thomaston, CT

She actually suffered a concussion after she fell warming up.....sounds like something I would do!

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

currently halftime in the OSU/Marshall game. OSU leading. doesnt help when Marshall fumbles the kickoff and OSU scores.

Thomaston, CT

UCONN starts tomorrow against Michigan......I'll be watching.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

go UCONN! DD's roomie is a Uof M fan, she plans on being somewhere else during the game.

South Hamilton, MA

Meanwhile, back at the ranch--we have been watching some very good tennis at the US open the last few days & nights!

Thomaston, CT

The Mets scored 18 runs today? They did better than UCONN who only managed 10 against Michigan! You might know I didn't see that game......

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, can you believe it?!!

South Hamilton, MA

Great tennis matches however at the US open.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Anyone following this 'incident with the Jets and the female reporter??? All I can say is, I'm in love again. ^_^

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

right - man your standards change when it is your team. the coach was dennis thurman x-cowboy throwing the footballs. not happy about that..

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I never said I had any standards.

Thomaston, CT

This one is news to me....haven't started following pro football yet this year.....

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I saw the first article about it and it didn't really give much info about what actually happened, I haven't checked on it since

New Boston, NH

Didn't see that article either but their will be more substancial news after the Patriots get ahold of them on Sunday!!!

New Boston, NH

Here in the woods of N.H. the paper finally had an article regarding the lady reporter in the Jets locker room. One would consider me to be on the liberal side of most issues, however I don't think a football locker room is a place for female reporters and if they choose to venture in what they see or hear should not offend them. This is a facility for use by young warriors not a gentlemens lounge. As far as the NFL giving work place etiquete classes I say fooey. The locker room is what it is and their privacy should be maintained!!!!

If a man walked into a womans locker room it would be vicious.

South Hamilton, MA

They do have a 'cooling off' period before the press is allowed in & the players know it. They are just being a pain & the coach is feeling rough & tough.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i agree with GK to some extent although the players and coaches should know better by now - when i was in my early twenties they would have kicked me out of the league

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Jets looked good beating the Pats.

What's up with the Cowgirls, Bill??? Even the lowly Bears beat them.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

did not watch the game so i can't tell you - not a good start to the season - thank goodness it is still early.

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

For starters, I think Roy Williams is a terrible receiver. I think getting rid of him would be addition by subtraction for the Cowboys.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i would have agreed with you last year - he has caught a couple this year in heavy traffic, held on, and paid the price receiveing big hits - this will be his last year in dallas, his guaranteed $$ is paid out so no hit to the cap.

for someone who was an all-pro he not very athletic.

New Boston, NH

Hats off to the Jets ,didn't get to watch much of the game but sounds like they kicked butt.
Seems like last year they beat the Pats first game also?

South Hamilton, MA

Then lost the 2nd. they only came alive in the 2nd half & took advantage of overthows by Brady. He has to tighten up the pass routes.

Thomaston, CT

Great Jets game, & really liked the Donald Brown TD to start things off for the Colts....if only UCONN could have him back!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I loved the Colts game!!
