I planted a feijoa sellowiana two weeks ago. It is in a very sunny spot. It is with plants that require very little water. I understand it does not like to be overwatered. The leaves are drooping. Too little water? Can I do irreperable damage by watering it well?
New feijoa sellowiana
Plants need more water when they're newly planted so you may need to give it a little bit more than you have been. Pay attention first though--if it droops during the day then perks up overnight and looks fine in the morning then it's just the hot sun causing it to wilt even though there's plenty of water in the soil. If that's what is happening, you might try to rig up some shade for it for a little while until its roots get going. But if it's not perking up overnight then it needs more water. You can also check whether it needs water by sticking your finger down a couple inches into the soil near the roots and see how wet it feels.
