I have a daisy tree, in a pot that totally dried out while I was on vacation. Will this come back? If so, what do I need to do?
euroyps viridis daisy tree question
How long were you on vacation? If you were gone for a month and it didn't get watered that whole time then I doubt it would come back. But if you were only gone a little while then it could go either way--no way to know for sure so I'd be patient and see what happens. The only thing you can really do to help it is make sure it gets watered (but not too much...if all the leaves died and the plant is severely stressed it's not going to go through water nearly as fast as it would have when it was healthy). You might also get it out of direct sun for a while until you see if it's going to put out some new growth.
We were gone 2 weeks. Thanks for your input. Our weather is still in the 60's up here. Not sure if that has any effect on the outcome. It's supposed to hit 80 tomorrow, and we should be having warm weather through September.
2 wks of cool weather certainly gives it a better chance than two weeks of 100+ temperatures. I'd hang in there and be patient with it and see what happens--plants can sometimes be a lot tougher than you'd expect. Euryops are pretty drought tolerant so it's possible it could come back although you can never be sure.
