Actually, Bonita, it was that huge pink slab that you gave me. I had it leaning against the bench by the pond to hide the external pump. It wasn't yesterday, it was today, and yowza...it hurt! I don't believe it's broken. I took a nap with it elevated, and after my shower it finally bled a little. I've been putting neosporin on it, and then a bandaid. The bandaid got soaked, so I'm letting the air get to it again. It's probably going to be sore for a few days though!
I'm so sorry you are having tax problems, Crissy....we have a wonderful tax lady. She said if we ever get audited, she doesn't even want us coming along....hey, works for me!
Betty, dear, glad you're feeling some better. I was worried about you!
You okay, Jaye????
2010 Sistahs reunion at Cookies..the memories! #1
hey ladies
Cookie owww on the foot. yikes.
Crissy hope it all works out for you . :)
Well Ric and Robin just left and my chicken coop looks awesome !! finely it looks like it can stand on its own ROFLLL .
They both did an amazing job .
we moved the hole thing over closer to the house and in a shaded area next to the woods. Very nice to work in the shade and not in the hot sunny field
good night
Evening Ladies!
That is indeed a Hummingbird Clearwing Moth - Hemaris thysbe .
We also have a Bumblebee version here.
Joyce put some Hydrocortisone on that scrape too.
That's how mine got infected.... pond rock scrape.
We just got back from Sue's about an hour ago.
Two hour trip but nice scenery and VERY cheap gas up that way. $2.51 a gallon!
15 cents cheaper than here.
It was 93° here w/ a heat index of 103°.
Not quite as humid up at Sue's place.
We, first thing, yanked that coop out of the Sun.
Betty those are Rose Campion seeds.
Silene coronaria not sure of the cultivar.
They are white flowering w/ a faint faint pink blush.
Scatter them now or Winter Sow.
They shouldn't come up until next Spring.
It was much more pleasant in the new location.
Not cool but a LOT nicer than out in that open field.
It came from behind that trailer you can see baking in the sun.
Off to the Hot Tub!
Ric
Betty, your garden is so beautiful! Love the pond too.
Wow, you guys were busy moving the coop!
Bon - floral? my place? no, you must be thinking of someone else's home.
I have lace curtains, but that's about it. mine is pretty de-cluttered btw.
Here's my home:
http://www.southernmobilehomes.com/midfield.html
It's not big, but I think it's good. The cover outside (with the black bar) is my hot tub with the cover down. The salesman said as the hot tub doesn't go with it (negotiable, and we could take it if it's not going for the right price), we shouldn't put it in the advertising. The web guy will have the wordage for the ad in tomorrow.
We have an Open House on Saturday - 1 to 4pm.
Susan
btw - do you see the computer, with the burgundy chair by it? That's where I sit, across the room from my DH on his computer.
Susan
Susan, I love how you have your sewing machine. Looks like it was a closet before?
Praying you will get a buyer soon.
yes, it was a closet - with a tiny doorway on the far right. We opened it up to it's full extent and framed it in like a Huge doorway. When you have a tiny doorway on one end, everything tends to get shoved into it and you can't find ANYTHING lol
Now, we can actually fit one of those double wide byoBeds into it. And there are shelves to the right, too.
My sewing table opens up to 6' long.
Must be nice to have all the room for your sewing table.
I just realized - the picture you see is the one where I'd taken down my sewing table and just put my sewing machine on a little table.
What I have is a "Murphy-style sewing table" that folds up to the wall, so when I'm not using it there's a lot more room. 6 ft from the back of the closet area into the main part of the room isn't far, but you don't have much room at the open end to walk around. You can do it, you just can't go dancing with a partner LOL
Thanks so much for sharing pictures, Betty. Did you do the bench? It's just lovely.
Hope your place sells soon, Susan, I know what a headache it is to try and keep everything clean for open houses!
My foot is really aching this morning, a little swollen and starting to bruise a bit. I'll put the hydrocortisone on it, Ric, thanks for the heads up.
Looks like you guys got lots done yesterday. That's great. Now the little chickens won't melt in the heat! Were the twins there to help out as well?
Betty, I haven't seen Bertie yet to find out about those pods...I should see her this afternoon.
Joyce - how's your foot today? What a wowser that would have been!! I hope you're keeping it propped up ^-^
No hurry Joyce..yes, I've the mold and had lots of left over glass from my lamps so thought I'd put it into use...have the mold for stepping stones as well, think I should be using what scraps of glass I have to do some more, now that I've more work to do in the gardens thanks to you all..lol..
Yesterday I bought a few bags of supplies for hypertufan, want to give it a try on Saturday..know it's a long curing process but if they work out I can make some in the fall and be ready for planting in the spring, so if any of you know how, or know of a DG link which would help out, please let me know...
Yes Sue's twins were there to help a bit.
He helped us steady the coop when we were moving it.
Savannah relayed our driving directions as that Kubota is loud!
Austin is a good tool hauler!
Savannah actually took some pics while we were working too.
But being 'little ones' they got their play time in also.
Good to see kids being kids, not video game zombies.
Betty .........

Scooterbug, could just hug you..let's hope I have the smarts to make some...
They spent quite a while 'riding' bamboo sticks as either horses or flying brooms.
REALLY nice to see the imaginations these two have.
The dynamics of M/F twins is very interesting.
All the twins I knew were same sex.
She ruled the roost but he was, much of the time it seemed, just going along not creating waves.
GREAT future training for the dating age.... LOL!
Goofy is good!
Morning Everyone!! I need to share pics too!
Ric those are awesome!! I've never had any relations with M/F twins either, just F/F or M/M, most identical.
Well..get at it, girlfriend!
The twins have such different personalities...they're cuties.
Betty, I just made a small pot on Tuesday evening. A friend of mine belongs to a garden club called "Here and There"...the reason being, the people are from all over, not just in one city. It was fun. Like a dummy (and I KNEW better) I made my little pot in a glass bowl. When I went to undo it today...wouldn't budge...so had to break the bowl. Luckily, it was an old one. I usually use a box, or a plastic tub of some kind, and I've always lined it with drycleaning bags...well, they were using Pam as a release....(I won't be trying that again anytime soon!) It was interesting though...the dynamics of the group...several older ladies. The lady whose house we had it at....oh my....they had it built and moved in in February. Just under 4,000 sf....amazing house. Wish I had had my camera. Several pulled me aside to let me know that all their houses weren't like that. I think they were afraid I'd get scared away!
That Hypertufa link (DG) is a great one...I always go there for ideas and suggestions.
Robyn's Mother was an identical twin.
It was eerie seeing her Aunt after her Mother passed.
We had 3 sets of identical twin boys in our neighborhood.
One pair were mirror image twins.
One right handed and one left, hair patterns and birthmarks reversed.... kinda freaky!
You'll have to show us your 'work of art' Joyce...
Amazing homes some live in, been there, done that lol..now I'm in a small comfortable (for me) house, very little cleaning or at least will be once the basement gets a ceiling..I'm in for the no work/no clean part of my life..more time to play with crafts, gardens and things...
So many different recipe's...also how does one describe - not too wet a mixture??? am sure it has to be wet enough for all the mixture to stick together? not wet enough to fall off the piece so guess it's trial and error..going back to read more of the thread...
Susan....foot is really sore today. :o( Guess I won't be moving much manure today!
Oh yeah, to answer your question, Betty about the horse manure. Last year there was a guy who was selling his place and he had manure mountains that had been aging for YEARS. We (Bertie's DH) had access to a dump trailer and the horse guy used his front-end loader to load the trailer. So they just kept going back and back and back making our own mountains! Bertie probably got twice as much as I did. Don't know what we'll do when this runs out, as the dump trailer is not available any more and the horse mountain was depleted and the property sold. I did see a sign not too far away for free manure, but didn't check it out. Sure would hate to have to shovel it off a trailer though....bad enough to shovel it into the garden! We got some manure from a friend of Bertie's that looked just wonderful...she promised it was aged, and I believe it was...however...it was just FULL of weed seeds. That was a battle until we got all those killed.
Okay, I'll go hobble out and take a picture of it!
Ohhh didn't mean for you to hobble to it right now Joyce..lol..I can wait..now from what I've read, after it's made it has to sit covered for several weeks, how did you get yours home? maybe I need to find someone to simplify things for me...I'm dense on some projects, or maybe it's because I find it overwhelming..imagine me saying that...
Well, Betty, we did the inside of our vessels. My friend used a fairly large plastic bowl she got at the $$ store. So it was just a matter of picking it up and putting it in the trunk. Now some of the ladies did leaves. That will be one of my next projects as I've not done that before. Now that I've seen someone do it, it will be easier to do. When I first started doing troughs I tried to do the outside of a bowl. The stuff just didn't want to stay on it. Kept sliding off...maybe my mixture was too thin...not sure. They say about the consistency of brownie batter. They also used a recipe that I haven't used before. It didn't have any peat moss in it, and mine calls for that. This seemed to sit up faster than what I use. It had sand in it, and mine doesn't call for sand. They also used vermiculite and perlite, and mine only calls for perlite. I will mist mine for several days to make sure it cures right and gets really hard. You also need to give it time for the lime from the cement to leach out so it doesn't damage your plants when you plant it. I've had the little fairy garden one above for over 10 years. Leave it outside planted and it does great. When we lived next door I planted thyme in it and before long the trough was lost. It just spread and covered all the edges. So this past Spring (after a trip to Joan's house), I redid it. I'm pleased with the way it turned out this time.
Great shot of the birdhouse with the bird arriving Crissy! Good timing!
You gotta be quick when you're getting birds in flight, they only stay with the baby for a few seconds.
That is just too sweet.
I wanted to stop Joan from talking and say look at that Sisters! But thought that might be kind of rude. So glad you got pix!
nice job..on one of the instruction sites it says after a few weeks to put it in water for awhile so that all the leaching is done and it cures stronger..again I imagine it's a learning process...
Was surfing the web, got a kick out of this guy...

Crissy, love the photo's..still waiting to see Niagara Falls?
That was fun! He's a clever man!
