I purchased this redbud tree about 2 months ago and haven't had a chance yet to plant it. One day, about a month ago, I noticed that it developed these orangey patches on the leaves. Is this just 'sunburn' or is it something more serious I should worry about?
Rusty patches on my redbud leaves
It looks like heat stress. It may have just gotten too hot/dry one day. It should be fine.
thanks!
Also, if you haven't planted it, don't. Until we get a good rain I'd keep it in the shade and water it at least every other day. If you do decide to plant it in the next month or two (rain or no rain) and you're planting it in full sun, I'd seriously consider setting up a shade of some sort for it.
