Can anybody suggest a good indoor houseplant, that is not a snake plant?
I live in the North East, in an apartment with a sunny window that faces South-East.
Best (annual) houseplants
Begonias, There are different colors flowers, pink, white, red. Geraniums. They can look a little ragged in winter if you take them outside during summer. They come in pink, white, red, peach, and pink and white. Coleus(has pretty leaves) Christmas and Easter cactus. They live forever and to me are easy to grow. African violets are beautiful, also different colors. I've never been able to grow them well but most other people have no trouble.
These are the ones i know about but i'm sure there are others.
Here is a link to the University of Illinois houseplant site. I like college sites caus i think they give better info.
