Last one...sorry Burn!!
Daily Pics. Vol. 333
Not a problem Nanny, I`m very slow at choosing pictures. I sometime get side tract. So don`t wait for me to finish, it might be a longggggggggg time before I`ll post another. :)
Great shots everyone!
Love the owl nanny!
Beautiful Tanager adel!
Wow, Adel, that Western Tanager sure is a beauty!
Burn, thank for the compliment on the Herons pics. most of them could have been improved, should I have caught them outdoor--most of my pics. are shot through glass-window. Nice gull and Osprey together. I see some here but am not certain what kind they're for I couldn't capture a close up of them yet.
Tehehehehe, Nan. So my "not the best" Northern Flicker shot is a female? How can one tell of their gender? I'd love to learn. Your Owl is a little spooky though it must be a fantastic find. I don't get to stay up late at night so Owl sighting would be an impossible op. for me.
Here is one of my favorite resident birds. The T. Timouse. Between these cuties and Northern Cardinals, they go through my raw peanuts feeder merely a day! It took them 3 days when I first put them out. Now they knew where to find the nuts I've to change them out daily. I need to go back to work (in order to feed 'em) if they keep that up!!!
Nan, thank you for sharing those pics. of the male and female N. Flickers. What clear pretty images. Adel, congrats on your 'lifer'. It's a nice find!
Nanny, I'm so happy to hear the owls are staying close to you. Your photos are wonderful. Think I'm as excited about seeing them as you are.
Lily, that's sad to hear about your ducks. Glad you're seeing the flicker. Great shot of the night heron! I think they're beautiful. Great catch on the titmice too.
Burn, the cowbird baby seemed to like the sugar water and kept coming for more, but I've seen it in the fruit trees next door possibly catching bugs too. I'm trying to think positive. What a sight, the gull and the osprey. Good timing.
Adel, two exciting finds in one day! That tanager is just beautiful and I love the eyes on the solitaire.
I was out on the deck watching the hummingbirds when I heard a noise close behind me. Turned out one of the younger Scrub Jays was telling me to get more chopped peanuts because the feeder was empty.
Mrs Ed, how sweet that little one is. Hope he finds a female.
Lily, I enhanced the colors a little more, and I still think your Wren is holding a berry of some kind in its beak. Anything growing around you looking like this?
Hack
Oops forgot the pic, see below.

Sweet! Hack, I'll have to look around. Our yard & the surrounding neighborhood is filled with bunches of "exotic" berries! My first hunch is that maybe one of the ornamental cherries. But I'll have to do som comparision to confirm that. Thank you for your help.
Cardinal Nest among my bamboos and wildcranberries shrubs;
Well I had a nice post ready put there was an error....
Adel..Congrats!
Duc..love the Scrub Jay!
Hack cute thrasher! I had one today but I was on the phone and couldn't get a pic of it!
One of the owl fledglings apparently hit the utility pole out front last night and is dead. Very sad......
A male Cardinal....
Oh burn, how cute is that song sparrow!!
I wish any kind of swallows would come nest in my yard!
Sorry about the owl, Nanny.
Song sparrow picked a slippery spot. Sorry about the owlet.
Nanny, that's tragic about the owlet. Particularly sad for you, because you've been following them.
Burn, I love the Song Sparrow on the globe, as well as your action shots.
Great picture's everyone!!! Hoping to add some soon. Have a great weekend!!
Great pic as always. Today my heart is heavy, I told you in a thread about a whale jumping, today when I had my coffee on the porch, I saw another, but this one was dead...it is such a heartbreaking thing. I phoned the relevant people who will do some research I guess to find the cause. Sigh!
On a good note, I am leaving for the MOST SOUTHERN MOST point of africa, Agulhas, in 2 hours, about 8 hour drive, and hope to get some nice birdies. I will try an post from there. Have a great weekend. Rian
Oh my, that is such sad news Rian.
Hope you have a great trip and look forward to new pics.
Little_things - I'm looking forward to seeing your African birdees.
Hope you have a good trip.
Hack
Tough luck about the whale, but it may have just been old. Have a good trip.
Nanny, i forgot to mention how sorry I am for the poor Owlet. Especially, when that happens to those we don't get to see often.
Rian, what a sad thing to see also. It's not a nice way to start the day. Hope your trip brings you some sweet rewards, birdy wise. Have a nice trip.
Thanks, Mrs -Ed, Margaret.
I haven't many pics. to share. Here is but one of the Red Headed Woodpecker 'til the weekend.
Sorry Rian about your day. Hope you do have a good trip.
Nan, it must be difficult to see the owlet that didn't make it. I've enjoyed your other postings, good quality pics. as usual.
Burn, love that Sparrow on the watering globe.
Hack, thanks again for helping me out with the photos.
Margaret, I'm so glad to see you are here with us.
Have a terrific and safe weekend everyone.
