Yeah, I agree!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

yes it is Trouble

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Speaking of Trouble with a capital T.....the huge bear is back ....he's in our woods and the dogs still have to go out for the night. Hank saw his eyes reflected from the light near the patio and then heard him making that snorty sound like Dahlia likes to make. LOL EEK!

The dogs are antsy and growling. We're just sitting here with the light on waiting for him to come back up on the patio to check the feeders. I'm going out onto our treehouse porch to see if I can hear him too.

Seeya! (hopefully) lol

Louise, scary situation! Take in your feeders at dusk.....

and put them out at dawn.

Had an awful article in today's Waterbury paper about an abused dog....they gave the address, & it's on the way to my son's house.....I couldn't afford any of the houses in that area, so we're not talking about someone in the slums...he's also charged with trying to strangle his girlfriend...the article literally made me ill, & I hope they toss him in prison with some dog-loving 300 pound man who has a short temper!

Geez

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

How terrible, Marilyn. I can't even read those things; I get so upset thinking about it.

The bear never showed up again, fortunately. All was quiet in the woods by the time I went out on the porch to listen. It might actually have been deer after all, because Hank walked around that area today and saw a lot of deer evidence and no bear signs. So, all's well that ends well. :)

Wow, I'd be so scared to have a bear nearby! I know we had one in our town not too long ago. It ransacked my inlaws bird feeders and many others.

We took our dogs to Mount Desert Island last week the day after our microburst that wrecked my garden. Needless to say the trip started out rocky, but my dogs had such a good time that it was impossible to stay in a bad mood (except when I passed a pretty hosta or something). I'm involved with a big community of Boston Terrier owners and every few years we plan a big meetup. Bar Harbor/Acadia is ideal for it because it is so dog friendly up there. Here are a few pics

Bar Harbor is one of my fav places.....the BTs are so cute...my DIL's aunt has one, Bella, and she's so smart.... Of course, after owning 3 dales, any dog seems smart!

Very cute pups! Love the Sox photo! Looks like a nice get-away for you after such a horrid garden devastation!

Oh gosh we just saw all kinds of doggies this weekend.
Our friends had their dog's 1st b-day party, he's a coon hound. there neighbor has a mix looks like a pit mixed with jack russel, but black and white, another person had their fox terrier there. Then today at our other friends bbq they have a Boston terrier, their friend has a mix lab/shepherd, their neighbor had their German Shepherd there....lots and lots of doggie kisses and hugs from my daugher she LOVES dogs. Then came home and watched Beverly Hills Chihuahua.

Whoa, really ugly for awhile, aren't they?

I was thinking the same thing. I would not want them in my bed

Yeah not too cute until the feathers start coming in

Thomaston, CT

Bear was back today, but I was out shopping & missed him/her...my neighbor left a message on my machine...said police finally called the DEP, but since I haven't seen them around, I would guess they're not actively seeking the bear.....

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

awwwwwwww, they're getting so big, Allison! Very cute!

We're missing Donnie here after his week with the girls......

Allison and Louise.....you both have the cute puppy market cornered!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

isn't it great?????

:)

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

It tis......but .my lil ugly babies all died. I think the heat killed them. I AM SO MAD AT MOM NATURE!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

aaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwww how sad... yes we can be mad at mother today

I started putting wet dog food in the puppys gruel... woke up to puppies on crack this morning... they all ate quickly and passed back out

Thomaston, CT

Allison, they look like real Yorkies now...& so cute I would have a hard time parting with them! Weeze, sorry about the birds...that happens in this horrible heat. The summer we bought our Irish wolfie was very hot, like this one...she was born in Minnesota, & a littermate didn't make it because of the heat....the woman raising them had no air, just fans, & she lost one pup.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

:(

Wasn't it rather late, though, for baby birds? They usually lay eggs in the spring, no?

Hey - that is right. The baby birds have all ready gone without their parents and are on their own now. I even think I am seeing young hummers!
