they look like the gold beetle holes i have on mine. i use insecticidal soap on mine and stomping the bugs.

yeah, i took a sample to a local nursery today and they said it could be anywhere from beetles to grasshoppers to caterpillars, etc. and they also said that the spotting on the leaves where from mites and possible white flies. ity bity little things on the back of the leaves were there. so they gave me a 3-in-1 safe pesticide to take care of it. I'm going to apply it early tomorrow morning because its about to storm here. Hopefully that will take care of the issue

it seems like the stuff i bought is just, ever so slowly working...they are still vining all over the place but i've only seen 2 blooms. but my heavenly blues haven't bloomed at all. why aren't they blooming??

Japanese beetles ate all of my morning glories. Judging by the time of your post, it's very probable they were the culprits because it's around their mating season. I handpicked the beetles off and put up a trap but I ended up pulling up the morning glories because I don't want to see those beetles next summer!

Up here in the Northeast the blue morning glories rarely show their blossoms before the end of August. (Then they bloom til frost).
