Pepper plants being enjoyed by something thats not me!

Hi there :)

I have a couple of bell pepper plants growing on my windowsill that i have grown from collecting the seeds. They are just starting to grow tiny little peppers that will mature, but something is taking bites out of the leaves and im wondering if they will live to grow bigger! I will attempt to attach a pic so you can see what the damage is looking like, so far there is about ten holes or more and i really cant see whats eating it but everyday i find more of the leaves have been eaten..

The hole in the middle of one of the leaves and the jagged edges look like some birds got to it. Insects either leave smoother edges or a lot of tiny holes. Are there any chickens or wild birds around? There is special netting to cover plants. It's cheap and can be used year after year. I've used it with a lot of success.

Hiya :) This is an indoor plant, forgot to mention. Needless to say, I found a bit fat caterpiller trying to sneak away one night!! Sneaky little beggar... Put it outside and the plant is no longer being eaten :D
