How to help my overwatered lavender plant??

I just bought a small potted lavender plant a few days ago & I gave it a generous watering after a couple of days.
Now it is shriveled up, wilted...
What can I do to restore it to a healthy condition?

I can post a pic...if that would help with answers.

Posting a picture would definitely help. With lavender my first suspect would be too much water--they are very drought tolerant and will die easily if they are kept too wet.
