I have been growing tomatoes, strawberries, and a bunch of other edibles for a few years now. This is the first year growing tomatoes from seed.
So far all my strawberries (which are suppose to be giant) are about the size of a quarter and are very sour. The other strawberries are the size of a pea and the larger ones are really deformed.
As for the tomatoes...well they just started to bloom so I thought maybe I can save those from the standard runts I get every year.
I have alkaline soil so I add peat every year to bring the ph closer to normal. Last year I was almost there and have not checked this year. The plants are in full sun (all day). They were planted w/ slow release fertilizer in the planting hole and have been fed w/ MG a few times (haven't had to water much since we have been rained on so much).
I would really like to grow some normal sized strawberries and tomatoes. Any thoughts would help.
Thanks
BTW...all my beans and peas do really well so I don't think I am doing all bad.
Why are my fruits so small?
