I know Cannas love sun and with the exception of this one canna having big holes in the leaves, the plants are healthy and producing new flowers. I'm new to gardening and this is actually the first time in my live I've ever had a flower bed.
Did I do something wrong? Should I spray?
Canna leaves has holes: Sun or pest?
Probably a caterpillar but maybe slugs or snails.

looks like little green caterpillar damage. slugs would leave like a white trail behind them. more like a cat. but may be a beetle too.
you did nothing wrong.!!!!!!!! pests are a problem to every gardener. first see if you can id the pest. then take action agianst it. if you spray without knowing what it is then you could harm the good bugs too.
most people if its a cat remove it if its a butterfly cat they find a plant for it to eat and leave the good ones alone. there are methods to use if you know whats doing it.
but i would go with a cat. look early in the morning or late in the afternoon. they dont like the heat of day at least most of my cats dont.
Yep. My hubby and I both saw catepillars. My husband said his was medium sized and hairy but the one I saw was little and white. Thanks for reassuring me.
glad you found out what was taking a snack. your welcome .
