Hello,

I garden in southern, Vt (zone 5a), is it too late to plant potatoes? I am planning on using a potato bag.
I would also like to plant a watermelon .... also using the potato nag. Any thoughts.

I am a novice gardener, this is my first time trying a vegetable garden. I am using a raised bed and it seems to be working well... knock on wood!

Any help would be appreciated.

Google your Vermont County Extension Agency. There should be loads of growing info on their website. Also, suggestions for varieties of veggies that do best in your area.

Hope this helps.

Regarding growing potatoes in bags, I'm bringing in a harvest that I grew in 20-gallon SmartPots and old washing machine tubs.

Thanks for responding! I planted yesterday so hopefully it will be ready to harvest come fall!
