These little flying gray bugs travel in a gray mist. They are eating me alive and I think they are what is eating my garden up, particularly my butterfly bushes. Does anyone have experience with them and know how to eradicate them. I have been aware of them before but have never had a problem with them until this year. I live in Northern California in Zone 9. We have had an unusual amount of rain and wind this year. Now the heat has finally set in. They are everywhere!
Help, please!

How do you get rid of the little bug called 'No See'ems'?
since they like to travel in groups and don't leave the area of their nests ie standing water, maybe find out were the water is at and get it dried out. you can also call around to see if there is a county or city orginazation that fogs for mosquitoes and see if they will fog for no see ums too.
Now that the rains are probably over for the year and it's warming up I suspect they'll disappear on their own unless you've got water around. As Barbara suggested it wouldn't hurt to look around for things that may be holding water and get rid of them when possible--those same things could harbor mosquitoes which you don't want around either. I also don't think they're what's destroying your garden--if you can post some pics of the damage you're seeing in the garden someone may be able to suggest who the real culprit is.
