Hi everyone,
I have a lot of woodchucks living on my property and over the weekend they raided my flower bed eating my cone flowers, pholx, etc....... I was furious!!!
Does anyone have any tricks or suggestions on how I can keep them away from my flower beds without loading it up with yard ornaments. In MA we can not trap and re-locate wildlife.
Thanks for your help!!
Woodchucks eating all my plants, any suggestions?

There are several of these products.Critter Ridder is another one.Its coyote urine. Its expensive and doesn't last long.Rain doesn't help it either.I battle them every year.I catch them in a havahart trap and relocate them.I know you said you are not allowed.I can not believe, you can not use one of these traps. It catches them live without injury. Its possible its unlawful to relocate them.In my area you can not relocate raccoons. You either let them go or kill them.I let them go.They are not what I'm after.Sometimes I catch a skunk,I let them go also.We have discussed this before on other threads. The most effective way seems to be,get a dog. This is not an option for me.If you live outside city limits you can shoot them.I live in the city without a dog.Havahart is my answer.Even if it was unlawful, I would do it anyway.Remember things are only illegal,if you get caught.LOL,Edge
Can you eat them? LOL I had one that hunkered down in a hole on a bank right below the garden. I spotted it waddling off with a cabbage one early morning. Being from Miami Beach, but the gardener in the family, I thought it was a small bear. DH is from MA and recognized it as a groundhog, aka whistle pig. The dogs served the eviction notice but not before major damage was done. I have to agree with the answer given by Edgeoftheworld. Otherwise consider Brunswick stew.
There is a product called Hinder that should work and not very expensive. Mix it with water and spray your plants. Won't hurt the plant and if it a veggie won't hurt you. Just wash good.
Oh thanks I will look for Hinder and give it a try!
I will try that Predascent too thanks!!!
