Morning Glories 2010 #07

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Helenka, this one here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=7896810
is what I had imagined my Roman Candy and Akatsu No Mai to look like if they were crossed.
beautiful!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Helena, I'm so ready for blooms. Lots of buds but many of the buds aren't even showing color yet. I love the diluted and Sazanami but
the dark pink is really nice too.

Here's another pink shibori from this morning.

Pink or lavender silk. By the way, nice astounding blooms everyone, the blue speckeled ones are my favorite.

Very nice blooms Tony.

Thanks Jackie and Debra, some of the blooms are lighter. This has been a very nice vine.

Helena, Your Wedding Bells is gorgeous. Love your last pic too,
beautiful Fuji no Ao

Here is a pink/red with what seemed to be blue streaks in the limb coloration, N26 designation of this plant.

I liked the deep blue of this particular flower, it made the surface texture appear almost velvet-like.

beautiful.. all of them..

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Ooh, the blue gets to me Joseph. :-)

Thank you, Debra and Jackie. Helena the Fuji no Ao is awesome.
Joseph

N11, from the Noriko Takemura Collection, made its first large flowers showing a dazzling display of 4 colors.

Another Kanoko plant made another flower. It spent all of yesterday unfolding the flower, and I thought it would open yesterday...good things are worth waiting for with the MGs.

I had a volunteer Calystegia sepium appear in the containers this spring, and decided to give it a chance with life. It has a charming pink, white and yellow flower.

Love both of those Joseph. It's taking my computer 6 minutes to fully display the enlarged bloom. Anyone else having this problem? If not, probably
my computer.
The only flower open today, my Blue Youjiro, this one hasn't even
made it to the fence yet, still a small vine. Happy to have any blooms. lol

I love the spoke flowers, Jackie. That one looks healthy.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Joseph
The same Sazanami that had the deformed bloom the other day.
I can't keep the soil moist with the temps near 100 here every day
so I guess that's the reason for the un-opened buds.
I'm going to water 2 times today and see if I can get these to open.

Well isn't that something!!!! I posted here yesterday and now I don't see my post. I also am having problems uploading photos and opening them takes longer than it used to. Could be the virus on my computer. It's been playing havoc with everything! Grrrr... Though I am NOT having that problem on other websites, so I don't know. Something else I've noticed. When I type in a plant that I know usually comes up with a link to DG when I google ... well, it ain't happening anymore. Not sure if my virus is a re-direct virus. If so, it's not letting me get to DG. That is the only website I seem to be having problems with so far. What's up with that, huh????!!!

Well, I love everyone's blooms!!! I really like the star/spoked ones. And the blizzard ones, too!

Helena - I love the Fuji no Ao and yours, too, Jackie - the blue Youjiro is just absolutely beautiful!

Joseph - Nice N11. I've gotten some blooms similar but in a different variety of colors. Usually 4 different colors, too! Pretty neat!

Helena - I really love your Pink Speckles! What a wonderful bloom! Reminds me of my Blue Speckles! I hope you get lots of seeds! I wanna trade you some of mine for some of yours! :-)

This is one of my star with four colors only different colors than yours, Joseph! :-) Mine has the Lavender, pink, white, and light blue. Pretty cool how MGs can make such blooms!

Happy Father's Day to all male gardeners and farmers who have kids. Here is an update on my 3-way cross a little over 2 months after transplanting.

Love the colors in your bloom Becky, really pretty.
Very strange what your computer is doing. A virus would be interfering with
all your browsing, not just DG you would think.

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Tony - I have to tell ya ... That's a pretty impressive vine you have growing there! I would love to see a photo of the parent blooms and then a close-up of the crossed bloom. Just to see what crossed over on the hybrid. ;-)

Jackie - Thank you! Yeah ... I have no idea. I have heard that DG is making some changes and I am wondering if that might have triggered something with my internet browser. Who knows! It's just really annoying. =:-O

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Becky, I have all kinds of computer problems too. Very aggravating.
I let my gkids use my computer, no telling what they've done. lol.

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Jackie - All it takes is to click on a site or download something ... and you have a virus. I use "Avast" FREE home anti-virus program. You can download it right off the internet. Works great! But I do have to run it every day if I have my computer on for most of the day. It is supposed to catch viruses, but sometimes one will get through. So I make a point of running a full scan when I go to bed at night. Next morning I get to add any viruses to the "chest" to disable them. I love doing that! LOL!

Here is one of my other large-flowered i. nils that bloomed this morning. I forget the name of this one.

Here is another bloom from my three way cross. It's pink with a touch of lavender on the petaloids.

Here is my Early call pink x Akatsuki no Umi cross as usual. Putting on a show 2 months into it. However, the white margin seems to be vanishing a little bit.

Here is the other side of the fence. It's making an impressive performance.

Becky, Mine had some type of fatal error, right after the gkids had been using it. DH had to run recovery by backdating everything. We finally got it back up and running but now I have lots of programs that are being blocked.
Wish I understood more about my computer and could work on it myself.

One of my Sazanami's, the one that hasn't been opening. So happy to have
a bloom.

I'm happy you got your first pretty Sazanami bloom Jackie!!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oops, I had tried to edit the above pic but now it's larger than life, sorry.
Thanks Helena, I should have another Sazanami bloom open tomorrow,
different vine.

Here is a first flower of N40, a very large blue JMG flower with white tube. The tube was a brilliant white, quite nice contrast with the blue.

Mine, and nobody's here in Japan just don't have much to show yet, I think due to a very cool spring. I have had a few blooms so far but nothing too interesting. I'm both interested and frustrated at the same time as many of the blooms here on this forum are just so wonderful! I am aware I am pretty much a first time grower and unaware of anything I may have done wrong! Or am I just a victim of the weather?
Jon

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Probably weather, Jon. I. nils really do much better in warm/hot temps. And fertilizing them couldn't hurt either. Are they getting lots of sun during the day?

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

beautiful blooms Joseph and Jackie.
