We have recently planted a trumpet vine in our courtyard. It's planted in a 3' diameter circle. We are worried about the root strength and what potential problems we'll have with concrete cracking/breaking as the trumpet vine becomes older/larger. The garden center says we don't have the typical reactions of plant characteristics some regions have because of our altitude ( Colorado 5900')
Thanks for your input!
Trumpet vine root strength
Here's one discussion about the trumpet vine, you may want to just look thru it, I can't remember if they mentioned anything about problems with cement.

Thanks flowerjen......Seems there are not a lot of fans of trumpet vines out there. How bad can it be? It may need attention and controlled but bad enough to be removed? Still would like reaction to affects on concrete.
Thanks for your interest
My old Trumpet Vine that reached the second story and started to grow into my daughters bedroom through a crack in the her window frame, didn't seem to bother the cement sidewalk that ran next to it. I think the sidewalk kept it from spreading all over the place. It just grew up and not out. It was still a beast and I wouldn't have another one.
This weed is right up there with Kudzu in my book!
