I went on a bike ride today with the family. I stopped to help and leaned my bike on a tree. When I picked it up i got a thorn in my finger. It burned!!! Within 30 mins i was having a full blown allergic reaction. What kind of plant has thorns that burn? I am allergic to bananas, tomatoes, strawberries, blueberries and coconut. The thorn was brown. that is all i can recall about the darn thing.
Not an indoor plant but what in the heck?
Can you show a photo of the plant?
Wish I could but we didn't have a camera with us.
Locust trees have thorns, I think Yellow Locust might be right name.
taj
Was the thorn on the tree or a plant growing near the tree?
Al
It was a very tall plant near the tree. The plant was at least 5 feet tall.
Color? Leaf shape? Flowers?
If there is a property owner, you could ask them, and then avoid that type plant like the plague! There's no way we can id it here without more info, but I do hope you took some benedryl or something right away. That's scary!
