My brocolli rapini plants are about 2.5 ft. tall and are full of yellow flowers. Have I in my innocence left them too long and is this "bolting"? Does this mean the stalks aren't edible, or can I cut off the flowers (or eat 'em?)
TIA
Brocolli rabe/rapini: has a newbie left it too late?
Yes you can eat the flowers. If you check the ones in the stores most of them has
unopened flowers. How do you prepare yours? I like to just microwave them and then eat them with balsamic vinegar.
This is the recipe for the dip
Balsamic vinegar
Salt and pepper to taste
brown sugar
sesame oil or olive oil
mix well
You can add sweet onions when you serve it and pour the dip before serving.
My, my, my, does THAT sound good! I'm going to go out and cut some now!
Thanks for the recipe, and prompt reply!
let me know how you like it.
