I am definitely a beginning gardener who got carried away - I think!
My potted plants are located under two large Oak Trees that provide a lot of shade with some direct and mostly filtered sun. I recently potted, Caladiums, Impatients, Mona Lavender, Jacobinia, etc. I used a good grade potting soil with food already in it, rocks in the bottom of my pots with drainage holes. I watered thoroughly as directed and since we have had quite a few showers. I have a soil wetness gauge and my plants have not needed watering since planting, but are staying too moist - I think.
Caladiums still look great. Impatients stopped blooming and maybe need feeding. Some are starting to look a little tired.
What do I need to do. If I need to re-pot them I am certainly willing.
Maybe with your help my garden will be beautiful and successful, and maybe I will be able to offer advice. In the meantime I really appreciate all the feedback received and thank you in advance for your help once again.

Shade Gardening in Pots
Ladybug, I'm also a beginner and I've learned that beginners tend to over water. I think you'll find the links below very helpful and informative:

Their information has been very reliable for me, and most of my plants look great.
Thank you for the referrals. I am printing them out and will read each one. I just don't want to lose the plants already in pots because they are beautiful. I'll be more careful with my watering when I first plant next time.

Are your pots on a stone or sitting on the bare ground? If they're on the bare ground, creepies can get into the pots through the drain holes. I always put my containers on a piece of flagstone or an upside down saucer when they're out in the garden. Your containers sound like they're really pretty. I love the look of Caladiums in pots.
To Daisies87, I thank you too for the web site referrals re: watering.
