help! okra leaves showing yellow dots and turning purple

I was wondering if someone could help me figure out what is wrong with my okra plants. I have recently been receiving very heavy rainfall and my okra plants leaves are not responding that well. Although I am getting new leaves, the older ones are starting to have yellow spots and purple fringes at the edge. Also, some previously fine looking leaves (without spots or purple fringes) just curl up and fall off. I am not sure if this is all related to the recent spate of heavy rain or they are a combination of issues. I have a mild case of aphids but I do not think they are the problem. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi Sgt Yates. Nope. Mine are definitely not red okra. I've gotten (and eaten) some really nice green pods which are still tender even at about 6 inches long. Bugs... hmmm good point... will try some anti bug solutions. I have seen some unusual looking leafhoppers lurking around. Not too sure if they are the critters doing the damage but they aren't supposed to be there are they?
Wow... your solution is very potent! i have tried everything in your recipe individually before (except jalepenos, i used a milder chilli) and i think they all chase away one form of bug or the other. I have to say that i find garlic the strongest repellant so far... although that kicks away some friendly insects like spiders. I find raw neem extract pretty good as well. That got rid of my leafminer and aphid issues when my plants were still seedlings.
Thanks for the suggestions! I am wondering if it is a form of mould or fungus as well... hmmmm... what do you think?

It doesn't look like mold or fungus to be going by the picture. Hard to tell what, but I think some kind of varmit. For the aphids just mix water with a strong dose of dish washing liquid and spay, making sure to spray the underside of the leaf.
