Calla Lily with unusual leaf

louisville, KY(Zone 6a)

I have a calla lily that has a very different bloom this year. It is yellow, which is the normal color, but the leaf has lots of yellow also. I am new with callas, this being the third year for this one. Any ideas on what could have happened here?

Looks like it might be a double bloom. I've never seen that before.

yeah,a double bloom, where the leaf'or' bloom in this case' has adopted a bi-color,[like a green goddess]- its odd!

ernbran, if that were mine I would be sure I kept it going. I would watch it for a couple of years and see if the doubling is stable. I don't know if there are other double callas. If not, you might have a rarity there.

I treat this calla with kid gloves. It is very special. My nieces gave this to me at a memorial for my sister, their mother, two years ago. I love the color and also the fact that the blooms last for a very long time, something I love with any flower.

Wow, your story gives me the chills. It seems like somebody wants you to know she isn't very far away.

I hope you will be able to keep us up to date on it next year. Do you know how to tag pages?

divine intervention!

I'm not sure how to tag a page but maybe I can figure it out. I sure will try. Thanks

Look in the top right corner of this thread and click on the little folder. On the next page you can tag it with any name you want. Something you can remember easily.
